Start to Read Biblical Hebrew!

Start to Read Biblical Hebrew!
In five two-hour sessions, that’s all it takes—a start! But, since more than half of the Bible was originally written in Hebrew, it is an important start for anyone who wishes to grow in their understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures (what Christians refer to as the Old Testament).
This is a course for complete beginners—no prior knowledge of any Hebrew is expected (although it is likely that you already know some Hebrew without realising it). With a willingness to learn together, we should all be able to at least start reading (and singing) Hebrew, even if our understanding of it will be limited to only a few verses.
This five-session start will try to help you achieve the following:
– Recognise the 22 letters of the (printed) Hebrew alphabet in Psalm 119
– Understand why Psalm 145:13 is longer than others in some translations.
– Read Genesis 1:1, Psalm 23:1; Numbers 6:24-26
– Understand why English translations of Psalm 51:17 (verse 19 in Hebrew!) and Psalm 100:3 differ.
– Learn to greet each other in Hebrew (Good evening, Good morning, Good night; How are you?)
– Read and sing Hebrew songs for Welcome & See You Again!
– Be inspired to learn more Hebrew!
