Chosen – When God Calls Your Name
Chosen is a 4-session series on Mary, the mother of Jesus.
You have a mission in life, whether you fully understand what it is right now or not. God partners with human beings to accomplish His purposes. He chooses, He calls, and He leads. So what do you do when He has chosen you?
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a great example of how to respond when God calls your name. She offers life-changing lessons for any believer. And she may be the toughest person you’ve ever encountered.
Learning Objectives
- • Recognise the various forms of childhood trauma and adversity
- • Identify common signs of mental distress from childhood adversity
- • Understand the neurological and psychological mechanisms underlying these links
- • Learn how to create a supportive environment and provide appropriate resources for such individual
Who Should Attend
- • Community professionals (counsellors, therapists, social workers, support workers, medical professionals) who work with adults with difficult childhoods
- • Educators and youth workers who wish to learn more about mitigating the impact of childhood trauma
- • Individuals with a personal or professional interest in trauma informed care

About the Speaker(s)
Rev Dr Peter Poon
Rev Poon has been involved in Walk thru the Bible Ministry since 1988. Rev Poon had also served in four Presbyterian churches for over 40 years, but has since retired from full-time pastoral ministry. He is passionate about teaching and training, as well as coaching and mentoring emerging leaders.
