Dr Calvin Chong

Professor of Practical Theology at Singapore Bible College

Dr. Calvin Chong, Professor of Practical Theology at Singapore Bible College, has been a faculty member since 1995. He has expertise in digital communications and its impact on church and society, with notable publications on the subject. He recently supervised student projects on VR church and art therapy in AR/MR/VR spaces. Additionally, Dr. Chong is involved in various boards and serves on the leadership team at Covenant Community Methodist Church.

Rev Jun Sung Jin

Missionary Researcher at Knowing Africa (KA)

He is a missionary, researcher, and strategy expert in the metaverse, integrating missions, VR, and innovation. With experience in expanding theological education, training leaders, and a former role at KPM R&D, he also serves on the board of OLIA. His main focus is leveraging VR for theological education and discipleship.

In his presentation, Embracing the Metaverse: A New Approach to Global Missions, he highlights the metaverse as a solution, redefines discipleship with ‘IncAvatation,’ and emphasises empathy, love, and mission. He concludes with an urgent call for innovative approaches, creating a compelling presentation.
